OREANDA-NEWS. December 05, 2012. CCCC Second Harbor Engineering Co., Ltd., CCCC First Highway Engineering Co., Ltd., CCCC Second Highway Engineering Co., Ltd. and CCCC Fourth Highway Engineering Co., Ltd. won the bids for Section CGSG-2, Section CGSG-3, Section CGSG-5, Section GSG-6 and Section CGSG-7 of Chaka-Golmud Highway project in Qinghai Province, with a total contract value of 2.819 billion yuan and a construction period of three years, reported the press-centre of CCCC.   

With a full length of 470 kilometers, a subgrade width of 26 meters and an average altitude of 3,200 meters, in two-way four-lane design, the highway involved in the project starts at the point of K2260+700 on Line G109 and is connected to Beijing-Tibet Highway in Qinghai. The project includes seven sections, five of which were undertaken by CCCC with a total construction mileage of 178.5 kilometers. The undertaken sections involve subgrade, pavement, bridge & culvert and intersection works.

The project is of great importance to perfecting Qinghai’s highway network, perfecting regional transport conditions, improving the service capacity of the great express channel in the western region, and promoting resource development and coordinated economic and social development of the areas along the highway.
