OREANDA-NEWS. December 05, 2012. TNK-BP has held a discussion with its contractors in the Orenburg region on a programme of additional measures to improve their efficiency in the field of industrial safety, reported the press-centre of TNK-BP.

The issue of safety, as a vital factor in the precise fulfilment of business plans and provision of good-quality services to the Company, was the central topic of the latest meeting of the Regional Supplier and Contractor Interaction Council, in which representatives from TNK-BP Subsidiaries and heads of around 50 major contracting companies took part.

According to the contractors, these platforms for working together – the Regional Councils and Conflict Resolution Commissions – help to develop partnerships and to resolve issues that cannot be tackled in the ordinary course of business. Important tools for enhancing the efficiency of existing safety mechanisms are prompt analysis of any violations uncovered and identification of their causes, as well as informing staff of the findings of all inspections. TNK-BP operates this kind of system and Company specialists made recommendations to the contractors on applying it in their firms.

“The demands we currently make of our contractors are one way of motivating them to work more efficiently and safely. The Company has an interest in reliable contractors, and in turn, we try to be more open and accessible to our partners. We get together at meetings like this one today to discuss the most important issues and seek ways of addressing them,” said Oleg Dimov, TNK-BP Vice President and Branch Director, “TNK-BP Orenburg”.
