OREANDA-NEWS. December 06, 2012. Global monthly financial publication The Banker selected SEB as the best bank in Estonia in 2012. In addition to Estonia, SEB was also declared the best bank in Sweden, Latvia and Lithuania, reported the press-centre of SEB.

„Since 2007, SEB has stood out in the Estonian banking scene and has also earned the recognition of The Banker since then. If before the recession we stood out with our progressive risk management and last year with our successful exit from the crisis, then this year our success was based on our successful steps in becoming a truly client-oriented bank. The panel of The Banker was impressed by the consultancy aids created by SEB for private and corporate clients; in other words, the manner in which we develop, in addition to our everyday work, the awareness of our clients regarding their financial affairs. We are just today finishing a vast two-month project, during which our corporate client executives visited 900 enterprises across Estonia to consult them using the special aid,” said Riho Unt, Chairman of the Management Board at SEB.

In addition to Estonia, SEB was also declared the best bank in Sweden, Latvia and Lithuania. “SEB is the leader in several business fields, but we wish to be seen as the best bank as well. Therefore it is a great feeling that for the first time we have simultaneously earned the title of the best bank in all markets in which we are operating as a universal bank,“ said Annika Falkengren, President of SEB Group.

The Banker, belonging to the publishing group Financial Times, compared the economic results, growth numbers and other indicators of banks. Information on the strategic progress, technological developments, client-orientation and other aspects were also taken into account.
