As part of an initiative of the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), Gerdau offered a guided tour of its plant in Midlothian, Texas, United States for more than 170 engineers, architects, and construction workers. During the Gerdau Steel Day Tour, these professionals had the opportunity to get to know the entire steel production process from the recycling of scrap all the way to the manufacturing of products.

The vocational education program is part of the national event "Steel Day" sponsored by the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), which includes tours and presentations at plants in different cities of the United States.
