OREANDA-NEWS. December 11, 2012. For almost ten years, AS SEB Varahaldus has provided investment management service of Eastern-European stock funds for SEB Sweden and Luxembourg, and this has resulted in earning the acknowledgement of Finance Estonia, reported the press-centre of SEB.

During the FinanceEstonia Forum, SEB Varahaldus was acknowledged with the first annual award for outstanding activities in bringing a branch of the international group to Estonia and developing its operation. According to the assessment of the Management Board and experts of Finance Estonia, the acknowledgement is earned by the duration of the experience and consistency of activities of SEB Varahaldus in Estonia and the geographical range and volume of the business managed from Estonia.

“90 per cent of our investors are from outside of the Baltic States, for example, we only recently gained a large institutional investor, in the form of a leading pension fund from Chile, which invested approximately EUR 30 million in one of our funds. It is a great feeling that the longstanding work of out fund managers and analysts with Eastern-European investments was now recognised in our home country,” said Sven Kunsing, member of the Management Board of SEB Varahaldus.

The award granted to the field of SEB Varahaldus refers to more than nine years of co-operation between the headquarters of SEB Wealth Management and the local fund manager in Estonia, AS SEB Varahaldus, in the field of managing Eastern-European investments. The investment teams of AS SEB Varahaldus, based in Tallinn, manage all Eastern-European stock and bond funds of SEB in Luxembourg, Sweden and Estonia. Currently, the total volume of said funds is approximately EUR 1 billion; most of the mentioned assets are in the funds of Luxembourg and Sweden and are invested by global clients of SEB.
