OREANDA-NEWS. December 12, 2012. UTair Aviation held its Annual General Meeting in Khanty-Mansiisk on November 30, 2012.

At the meeting shareholders approved a major financing deal, with several accompanying interdependent transactions, for the delivery of 20 Airbus A320 aircraft under an agreement signed with VEB-Leasing. The decision to purchase Airbus aircraft was approved at the Annual Shareholder Meeting on June 27, 2012. The first deliveries are expected to take place in Q2 2013. The new aircraft will be equipped with CFM56-5B engines, remarkable for their fuel efficiency. The aircraft will also be fitted with comfortable, ergonomic Pinnacle seats and modern galley equipment.

A vote at meeting also appointed Ernst & Young as the designated UTair Aviation auditor providing control of financial and economic activities for the company for 2012 in accordance with IFRS standards.

UTair Aviation ranks among the top three Russian airlines. In 2011 UTair aircraft transported 6,750,425 passengers. In the period from January-October 2012 UTair Group serviced 31.4% more passengers than for the same period of 2011. In 2012 the airline expects an increased transport volume of up to 10 million passengers. The airline operates more than 200 fixed wing aircraft and performs flights to 110 destinations in Russia and aboard. The airline maintains its central hub at Vnukovo International Airport in Moscow, from which it performs 100 flights daily.
