OREANDA-NEWS. December 13, 2012. Belarusian Railways (BR) plan to introduce an e-ticket system for passenger trains bound for Russia and Latvia, the company said in a release.

At the moment, BR maintains an e-ticket system for 14 passenger trains running between Minsk and all regional centres, including a few minor destinations: Kalinkovichi and Baranovichi.

The system has been test-running since September 12, 2012. Since then BR has sold 7,900 e-tickets.

At the moment, one can purchase a BR e-ticket via an internet-banking service and also by means of EasyPay and WebMoney e-money services.

One of the principal requirements for those, who purchase e-tickets via the internet, is that they are supposed to get registered for the train at least one hour before the journey.
