OREANDA-NEWS. December 13, 2012. Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov considers that the main priorities of the new Government are expansion and strengthening of economic freedom and deregulation of business. This was started by him on Thursday in the Parliament.

"The priorities of the new Government will be: the expansion and strengthening of economic freedom and hence the maximum deregulation of business, reduction of interference control and law enforcement in the activity of enterprises, increasing responsibility for unwarranted interference" - Mykola Azarov said. However, he stressed that the Government will pay special attention to the formulation of the conditions for fair and free competition, property rights, strengthening fair judicial system and the introduction of anti-corruption mechanisms at all levels of government.

The Prime Minister said that his government will implement measures to stimulate domestic demand and increase production of domestic products.

The government also is going to implement major infrastructure projects aimed at the development of the production and transit potential of Ukraine, improving infrastructure, facilitate the creation of advanced agricultural infrastructure and social infrastructure in rural areas. It also will be enhanced measures to guarantee energy independence, increase domestic production of energy, diversification of energy supplies and the introduction of energy efficient technologies. According to Mykola Azarov, the Government also will do focus on strengthening the protection of domestic producers from unfair competition in the domestic and foreign markets and introduce a mechanism of state support for exports.

At the same time the PM noted that the Government will insist on the consideration by the Parliament urgent bills on amendments to the Law of Ukraine "On Public Procurement", which will attract more domestic producers to public procurement procedures, the draft law of Ukraine "On the State Development Bank" which, as emphasized Mykola Azarov, will create appropriate conditions for the realization of long-term investment and innovation projects in the priority sectors of the economy. In his opinion, the Law of Ukraine "On Higher Education" should be improved, which will allow to modernize higher education in Ukraine, its adaptation to European standards and will lead regulatory framework of higher education in line with the objectives of the innovation economy.

According to him, an adoption of the new law on innovation and the Law of Ukraine on internal trade is important. "On the one hand, the law (on internal trade) is needed to bring in order the trading activity and on the other hand to protect domestic producers and consumers", Mykola Azarov summed up.
