OREANDA-NEWS. December 14, 2012. Last month’s housing commissioning in Azerbaijan increased by 1.6% against October 2012 and by 3.05% versus November 2011.

The Azerbaijan State Statistics Committee (ASSC) informs that this November it was commissioned 222,400 sq m of housing versus 139,300 sq m in October, 129,900 sq m in September, 145,900 sq m in August, 125,300 sq m in July, 250,800 sq m in June, 110,000 sq m in May, 104,900 sq m in April, 83,900 sq m in March, 78,900 sq m in February, 168,200 sq m in January of 2012, 342,500 sq m in December (last year’s best indicator) and 72,900 sq m in November 2011.

"Over Jan-Nov 2012 housing commissioning volumes totaled 1.559 million sq m versus 1.579 million sq m a year earlier," the Committee reported.

The decline of these volumes still makes up 1.3%.

In 2011 it was commissioned 1.9 million sq m of housing that was by 6.8% more against the 2010 figure and became a record for entire history.

Housing commissioning totaled 1.8 million sq m in 2010 versus 1.36 million sq m in 2009, 1.556 million sq m in 2008, 1.425 million sq m in 2007, 1.218 million sq m in 2006, and 1.58 million sq m in 2005.

Already today the housing shortage in Baku alone is 15 million sq m, and at the current pace of building the housing problem in the country will be decided over 10 years.
