OREANDA-NEWS. December 18, 2012. Deutsche Telekom’s corporate customer unit T-Systems announced today the renewal of their business with Shell for another five years by signing a contract for worldwide hosting and storage services. Under the agreement, T-Systems will continue to provide Shell with data centre infrastructure and computing services around the world. Shell has moved global dynamic SAP services into the cloud, thus adapting the use of information and communication technology to business demand, boosting efficiency and reducing cost.

“We are pleased that Shell has renewed its contract with T-Systems. I thank Shell for their confidence in us”, said Reinhard Clemens, member of Deutsche Telekom’s Board of Management and T-Systems CEO. “T-Systems is a truly international service provider with a broad spectrum of secure cloud computing services.” Deutsche Telekom aims to strengthen its growth with cloud services over the next few years. According to analysts Telekom is ahead of the field with managed clouds for corporate customers.

Under the 2008 contract, T-Systems implemented a dedicated global delivery team in all key Shell locations to ensure a robust IT environment around the clock. Additionally, some 900 highly skilled Shell specialists joined T-Systems and contributed to fulfilling the high service commitments to Shell.
