OREANDA-NEWS. December 18, 2012. MegaFon has provided its Bryansk customers with 4G mobile communications.

The initial segment of the 4G network will cover the central city area of Bryansk, as well as the places mostly frequented by the citizens.

The key advantage of Long Term Evolution (LTE) is high data speed, at average 7–10-fold higher than the same in 3G, up to 50 Mbps; it is also special for its response rate (ping) consistent with wireline broadband internet access. In addition, 4G is compatible with networks of the foregoing generations, therefore, a mobile device of any standard works seamlessly throughout all networks.

Along with the launch of 4G, Bryansk has kicked off the sale of the all-around modem ‘MegaFon E392’ performing in all MegaFon’s networks. The price for such an “off-road” in the corporate chain will be 1,990 rubles. Complementary, every buyer will get 5 Gb of gratuitous on-account internet traffic available for two weeks.

In the Bryansk Oblast, MegaFon has taken the lead in mobile internet services holding around 37% of data market by revenue. The operator has offered to its active mobile internet users special options to access the network by PC (S, M, L, XL, XXL) or by phone (BIT) on the most favorable terms.

“Over 400,000 residents of the Bryansk region have chosen MegaFon, where every third subscriber is an active mobile internet user. Average monthly active mobile internet user download consumption is over 1.6 Gb,” said Vladimir Palakyan, director of Regional Office Central Branch of MegaFon. "No doubt, as soon as 4G and special devices faster than in 2G and 3G have appeared in the market, that significantly increased the number of mobile internet adepts. We’ve launched a special option for them ‘Internet XXL’ featuring 35 Gb on-account traffic at the speed of 30 Mbps.
