OREANDA-NEWS. December 27, 2012. Belarusian veterinary authorities have introduced temporary restrictions on the import of pork and live pigs from Russia’s Ivanovo Region.

The move follows the announcement by Russian Veterinary And Phytosanitary Control Service dated December 7 2012, which informed about African swine plague virus found at one of the farms in Ivanovo Region.

Vet restrictions on live poultry, eggs, floccus and feathers, poultry meat and all kinds of poultry products, feed and supplements, as well as second-hand poultry farm equipment from Taiwan were introduced to prevent H5N2 bird flu from penetrating the territory of Belarus

Cattle import from Brazil was restricted as a result of several instances of mad cow disease registered in that country.
