OREANDA-NEWS. December 27, 2012. Aviva regretfully announces that Philippe Maso y Guell Rivet has resigned as Chief Executive Officer of Aviva France, effective immediately. Philippe Maso joined Aviva in July 2011 and has enjoyed a long and successful career in the European insurance industry.  He was CEO of AXA Insurance UK from 2008 to 2011 and prior to that finance director of AXA’s UK business. He also held senior roles for AXA Group including leading its corporate finance and risk management division.  He began his career with Mazars and also worked for UAP Group.

John McFarlane, Chairman of Aviva, said: “I would like to thank Philippe for his contribution to both the business in France over the last 18 months, and more recently, to the Group overall.  His extensive experience of the insurance market in not only France but Europe more broadly, coupled with his focus on customer service and innovation, have been invaluable in the development of our business.  I wish him well in the next phase of his career”.
