OREANDA-NEWS. December 28, 2012. The Board of Directors of ZAO CUMMINS KAMA has recently held a meeting. ZAO CUMMINS KAMA is a joint venture of KAMAZ and CUMMINS Inc., the leading American manufacturer of diesel engines.

Steven M. Chapman, Group Vice President – Emerging Markets and Businesses, CUMMINS Inc., and Alexei Ustinov, General Manager, Cummins Russia/CIS, arrived at KAMAZ. The businessmen, who had repeatedly visited KAMAZ before, toured the production facilities of CUMMINS KAMA Russian-American JV.

Then, the Board of Directors of the joint venture held a meeting during which it was decided to expand the range of Cummins ISBe Euro 4 engines and increase engine production in 2013. The Board of Directors discussed successful implementation of the localization program. The company has already completed localization of cylinder heads, crankshafts, flywheels, harnesses, air compressors. Localization of cylinder block castings, hardware, and other components will be soon finished too. Localization is carried out by KAMAZ jointly with the world known companies Knorr Bremse, Leoni, BOSCH, etc. CUMMINS KAMA continues taking measures for localization of engine components in Russia.

The joint venture has shown other good results this year. Cummins Inc. gave JV the Silver Level of Labor Protection. There has not been a single accident at the enterprise for more than a year. The company successfully certified its quality management system according to ISO 16949.

The American partners negotiated with General Director of KAMAZ Sergey Kogogin. The parties discussed the issues of mutually beneficial cooperation and determined prospects of development of the joint venture.
