OREANDA-NEWS. January 3, 2013. Branch of JSC “MOESK” Western Electric Grids starts reconstructing a single-chain 110 kV overhead power transmission line (OL) “Mozhaysk – Mukhino” with the line’s overhangs to railway substation “Tuchkovo” of JSC “Russian railways”.

Length of the overhead line is approximately forty kilometers. As of today the designing has been completed, JSC “MOESK” will start performing the construction and installation works soon. In the course of reconstruction they assume to substitute fully a single-chain power transmission line, poles, as well as the wire transfer to double-chain version. The renovation result of 110 kV OL “Mozhaysk – Mukhino” will be the following additional opportunities for the capacity transit from Kalininsk Atomic Power Station through 110 kV OL: “Kubinka – Sukharevo”, “Sukharevo – Schyolkovka”, “Mozhaysk – Schyolkovka”. The wire application with a big section will increase the transmission capacity and will increase the power supply quality. Beside the main wire for the line protection against lightning overvoltage, an overhead ground-wire cable will be installed. A fiber-optical cable built in the overhead ground-wire cable will make it possible to provide a reliable information exchange between the feeding centers of JSC “MOESK”.

Reconstruction works of an overhead line are planned to be completed in 2015. The renovation of 110 kV OL “Mozhaysk – Mukhino” is made within the framework of the investment program of JSC “MOESK” to provide the socially significant facilities with a continuous power supply and for good-quality power supply of Mozhaysk region’s consumers.
