OREANDA-NEWS. January 10, 2013. In CY2012 Commercial Port of Vladivostok handled 6.7 mln. tons. The port hit 100% target on annual cargo handling.

In terms of export, import and cabotage 2,989,500 tons of bulk, liquid and other general cargoes, except for containers and import cars and heavy-duty vehicles, were moved via the port.

Container traffic cargo reached 456,146 TEUs (twenty-equivalent units), import cars and heavy-duty vehicles totaled 76,560 units.

In CY2012 Commercial Port of Vladivostok continued to increase cargo turnover, up 4% over 2011. The cargo via the port mainly encompassed metal products, heavy-duty vehicles, containerized cargo, heavy lifts, construction materials and metal structures, oil products, metal scrap, coke.

Container handling is a top priority for Commercial Port of Vladivostok. In 2012 company started to implement the project on the integration and expansion of production resources of several terminals for handling this cargo flow.

In CY2012 the port reinforced its position in handling import cars and heavy-duty vehicles. Aside from significant used vehicle volumes handled, putting dedicated areas into operation at Vladivostok Automobile Terminal made it possible to improve new foreign-manufactured cars handling service levels.

In 2013 Commercial Port of Vladivostok will be operating as a single, integrated stevedoring company and top priority will be given to the handling of containers, cars, heavy-duty vehicles and oil products.
