OREANDA-NEWS. January 10, 2013. At substation “Sigma”, located in Zelenogradsky district of the capital city, the power engineers of JSC “MOESK” have set in operation 220 kV gas-insulated factory-assembled switch-gear (FASG). Together with setting in operation of the FASG, two power autotransformers by 250 MVA with the voltage of 220/110/10 kV have been put under load.

Transfer of SS “Sigma” to the voltage of 220 kV has been made by a cutting of two existing 220 kV OL “Omega-Radischevo 1 and 2” and formation of four new PTL (power transmission lines). The substation connection to the grid was made via an indoor transitional point, from which the voltage is supplied in FASG of the substation through four cable lines.

Substation “Sigma” gives power to the consumers of Zelenogradsky district of the capital city, where the housing and industrial construction is developing dynamically. “Launch of the reconstructed feeding center at the full capacity will make it possible not only to increase reliability of Zelenogradsky high-voltage electric grids, but also will create an opportunity of the additional connection of the new consumers, among which the top-priority attention is paid to special economic zone (SEZ) “Zelenograd”, - specified Deputy Director General of JSC “MOESK” – Director of the Central Electric Grids Roman Voynov. – “Zelenograd”, as well as “Skolkovo”, is an investment foundation of the country’s would-be industry. And the role of Company “MOESK” – is to electrify to the fullest extent the scientific and production developments”.

Enterprises of micro- and optoelectronics, IT-, nano-, bio information and bio sensoric technologies will be placed at an area of about 150 ha, allotted for SEZ. They plan to represent the capacity up to 160 megawatt to SEZ “Zelenograd”.

Holding “STROYENERGOSERVICE” is carrying out the works on the substation renovation.
