OREANDA-NEWS. January 11, 2013. TNK-BP informs that the Company will invest over USD40 mln in the implementation of the pipeline replacement program in Varyogannftegaz in 2013. The program includes replacement and reconstruction of more than 90 km of pipelines, reported the press-centre of TNK-BP.

TNK-BP takes continuous efforts to ensure pipeline infrastructure integrity; the comprehensive integrity program includes pipeline monitoring, diagnostics, corrosion protection, repair and replacement. Over USD 1 bn have been allocated for this purpose since 2004.

"The Company is continuously improving its pipeline quality control system, introducing new inspection and corrosion control methods. Our innovative approach ensures maximum control of the pipeline systems' condition and prevents potential loss of containment at a very early stage. It will not only minimize our impact on the environment, but will also reduce our pipeline maintenance costs," said Sergey Karavaev, General Director, OJSC Varyoganneftegaz.
