OREANDA-NEWS. January 11, 2013. In January-November, 2012 remittances from aboard in favour in individuals made via banks grew 4% or USD 51.65 mln. to USD 1 bln. 358.83 mln.
According to the National Bank of Moldova, in November, 2012 remittances from aboard in favour of individuals made via commercial banks amounted to USD 133.61 mln., USD 5.6 mln., or 4.4% as compared with the same period of 2011.

In the structure of remittances about 36.3% fell to USD, 36.4% to EUR and 27.3% to RUB in November, 2012. The total amount of remittances in January-November, 2012 included about USD 1 bln. 209.09 mln., or 89%, transferred to Moldova through various rapid money transfer systems, the National Bank informs.

This indicator made up USD 1 bln. 145.09 mln. or 87.6% in the same period of 2011. The greatest sum fell on September and made up USD 152.71 mln., the smallest one falling on January and being USD 81.7 mln. The biggest receipts to Moldova come from Russia and Italy. According to the World Bank, remittances from Moldova’s labour migrants amount to 20% to 30% of GDP of Moldova.

The all-time peak of the volume of money transfers to Moldova made in favour of individuals via commercial banks was recorded in 2008 when it amounted to USD 1 bln. 660.09 mln. within the year.
