OREANDA-NEWS. January 11, 2013. In December 2012, a 5000-kilometer mark of equipping of TRANSNEFT pipelines with “OMEGA” system of leak detection and activity control was overcome. According to Dmitry Pleshkov (the General Manager of “OMEGA” CJSC), different objects were equipped with “OMEGA” universal instrumentation and automation complex in 2012, such as: “Malgobek – Tikhoretsk” trunk pipeline of 484 km length, “44th km – “Tikhoretskaya” oil transfer terminal” sector of 483,6 km length, as well as sectors “Samara – Grachi” and “Borodaevka – Ternovka” of “Khuibyshev – Tikhoretsk” trunk pipeline (297 km length). “Our especial honour is equipping with the system of a series of important objects at ESPO second line, which was put into operation on December, 25th, – D.Pleshkov noted. – Among them we can mention reserve lines of trunk underwater passages through Angara and Aldan rivers and through Ust’-Ilimskoye water storage reservoir, sector of “Taishet – NPS Skovorodino” main pumping station, and a system of automation of ground at oil base “Koz’mino special marine oil port”, and this is only in the current year.

“OMEGA” CJSC was established in the year 2009; this enterprise enters a group of companies of TRANSNEFT JSC, and it is specialized in development and mounting of the system of leak detection and activity control at the Company’s objects. This system, elaborated by Russian scientists, uses a fiber optic cable as a sensitive element, and it can in real time mode detect potentially dangerous activity of people and equipment at the pipeline protected zone, as well as detect leak points and criminal taps with a high accuracy. Having a series of advantages before its foreign analogues, this system has a constantly increasing demand among Russian and foreign companies. Since the year 2012, “OMEGA” CJSC participates in a number of international tenders. Dmitry Pleshkov, who had occupied a position of Deputy General Manager before, has been appointed the General Manager of the Company since November 14th of the current year.
