OREANDA-NEWS. January 11, 2013.  Pursuant to the activity restructuring program, being implemented by AeroSvit Airlines, it makes changes in its flight schedule for 2012-2013 winter navigation season.

In particular, AeroSvit Airlines will continue to operate long-haul routes to Beijing, New York, Ho Chi Minh City, Bangkok and Goa. Additionally, together with partner airlines AeroSvit Airlines will provide passenger carriages within Ukraine according to the existing domestic route network. There is a possibility for prompt adjustment of the company's international and domestic flight schedule taking into account the payload.

However, AeroSvit Airlines significantly reduces the network of international medium-haul flights. The Airlines will operate the following air routes: Kyiv-Moscow, Kyiv-St. Petersburg, Kyiv-Istanbul, Odesa-Istanbul and Kyiv-Tashkent.

The company will be ceasing its own operation on the rest of international medium-haul routes from January 11th till 00:00 January 15th, 2013. Flight schedule for the succeeding winter navigation period will be promulgated tomorrow, on Friday.

AeroSvit Airlines presents its apologies to passengers for cancellation of flights on the majority of routes and offers them to be carried by partner carriers' flights or to receive refund for ticket costs at the place of purchase in accordance with the procedure provided by the carriage rules.

AeroSvit Airlines' activity restructuring program is developed as a response to consequences of the industry crisis and economy stagnation in some regions, principally in Europe. Its purpose is to prevent the Airline's cessation, restore its competitiveness and ensure that all commitments to contractors will be fulfilled in full.

Restructuring involves significant Airlines’ cost saving, route network adjustment, operation efficiency increase and gradual unprofitableness overcome.

At the same time, the Airlines had to revise the initial program draft to a more drastic reduction in its own route network because of unreasonable actions of the financial department of the International Air Transport Association (IATA).

Since the beginning of the year, IATA BSP Ukraine, regional office of the settlement system between airlines and agents for the sale of air carriage, is materially breaching IATA approved schedule of funds transfer to the air carrier for sold tickets. It leads to violation of payment schedule for services provided to the company and as a consequence to disruption of many flights. In addition, for renewal of participation in IATA BSP AeroSvit Airlines was imposed unreasonable, ten times higher financial claims. Thus, they deliberately destroy the mechanism of cooperation of AeroSvit Airlines with agents - BSP members in different countries.
The Airline will continue its dialogue with IATA management and hopes to reach a compromise solution that will preserve the existing system of air carriage sales in full compliance with IATA resolutions.
