OREANDA-NEWS. January 16, 2013. This was briefed by Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Vasile Bumacov on pres conference.

According to him, the Fund for subsidizing proper consists of 400 mln lies and 60 mln leis have been allotted from the fund of the European Commission in the framework of the European Neighbourhood Programme for Agriculture and Rural Development (ENPARD) pilot project. The official launch of the project is scheduled for 2013, Vasile Bumacov said. According to the Minister, to reduce fallouts of the drought 120 million leis will be assigned in 2013.

This sum includes 22 mln. leis to back wheat growers and 90 million leis to support growers of maize. Vasile Bumacov said the anti-hail system would be allotted to 72 mln. leis and 14 mln. leis would be assigned for consultations. He added that a consulting company would be selected as a result of a tender. To support farmers 758 mln. leis will be provided from European projects. This sum comprises 50 million leis of grants.

Whereas the Ministry used to allot more funds to purchase modern equipment, the stock-raising sector will be priority in 2013 and after. This sector is very promising and Dutch investors showed their interest in opening 4 farms in Moldova, Vasile Bumacov stressed. “Besides, the Regulations for subsidizing of agricultural sector include three new measures. Uprooting of vineyards and orchards will be backed: growers will have 5 thousand leis per each hectare replanted.

They will be also partially compensated irrigation and land consolidation costs", Vasile Bumacov said. Besides, the Ministry is going to encourage startup farmers and to increase subsidies for them by 10%. The Regulations for subsidizing of agricultural sector is expected to be approved within a fortnight.
