OREANDA-NEWS. January 16, 2013. On January 15, SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev received the delegation of Air Products led by Company’s president and chief executive officer John E. McGlade.

Welcoming the guests, Rovnag Abdullayev congratulated them on the occasion of New Year and wished them all the best. Expressing his gratitude for reception, president and chief executive officer John E. McGlade stated that was his first visit to Baku. Briefing on Air Products, he mentioned that with over 40 enterprises and USD 10 billion circulating capital, the Company has 20-year experience in supplying industrial gases and LNG, as well as in producing equipment and technology for refineries and petrochemical enterprises. Pointing out SOCAR’s high repute in the world, huge oil and gas projects, Mr. McGlade expressed their interest in cooperation with SOCAR.

In turn, Mr. Abdullayev gave information about SOCAR’s projects in the country and Turkey and spoke about ship building plant in Baku, Nitrogen fertilizer plant in Sumgayit, Oil Refinery in Izmir, extension of Petkim port, power stations to be constructed there and other projects. He also underlined the new Oil-Gas Refinery and Oil-Gas-Chemistry Complex and said that those are Azerbaijan’s greatest projects. ''These are big challenges for SOCAR and its partners in the next five years,'' Mr. Abdullayev said.

Stressing that SOCAR implements several large projects McGlade said that his company intends to contribute to this work by using practice and technologies.
