OREANDA-NEWS. January 17, 2013. Banco Bradesco remains in the list of companies making up the Carbon Efficient Index (ICO2). Developed by the Securities, Commodities and Futures Exchange (BM&FBovespa) and the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES), the index aims to encourage companies to work towards a low-carbon economy, as well as stimulate the adoption of climate-change policies and transparent GHG emission practices.

The new portfolio, which will remain in effect from January 7 to May 3, 2013, is composed of 36 shares issued by 35 companies. It is based on the portfolio of the Brazil Index 50 (IBrX-50), which also considers companies’ GHG emissions when weighing the participation of its constituent shares, and is especially aimed at encouraging companies to measure, disclose and manage such emissions.

Bradesco’s shares are also included in national and international capital market sustainability indexes, having been part of the Dow Jones Sustainability World Indexes (DJSI) since 2006 and the BM&FBovespa’s Corporate Sustainability Index (ISE) since 2005.
