On 10.01.13 Director for marketing of the state company MMTC Ltd Mr. Ved Prakash (who arrived in Minsk as part of the Indian delegation headed by Mr. Sudhir Mittal from the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers) paid a working visit to BUCE with the purpose of discussing questions of organizing trade of ferrous and nonferrous metals, agricultural produce, coal and hydrocarbons, gold and silver, unprocessed diamonds and others.

For reference: MMTC Ltd (Metals and Minerals Trading Corporation of India) is one of the two highest earning companies of foreign exchange and India's largest public sector trading entity. MMTC organizes export of raw materials, such as coal, iron ore and manufactured agricultural and industrial goods, as well as imports essential commodities such as ferrous and nonferrous metals for industry, and fertilizers. MMTC participates in trading and is a trusted member of National Spot Exchange Limited of India (NSEL), with which BUCE has signed the Memorandum of Understanding.

In the course of his visit Mr. Prakash held talks with Chairman of the Board Arkadi Salikov and Deputy Chairman Anatoli Zaretski, during which he was introduced to the activities carried out and the results reached by the trading sections, including the trading system of industrial and consumer goods, as well as the set of logistic and freight forwarding services of BUCE.

Ved Prakash expressed interest of the Indian side in using the instruments of electronic and exchange trade for purchasing commodities traded on BUCE’s platforms, in particular the scrap of ferrous metals, sawn timber, dairy, heavy machinery and equipment, automobile tyres and others.
