OREANDA-NEWS. January 18, 2013. Weather conditions in winter are extremely unfavorable for drivers, and is often the cause of traffic accidents. Having an insurance policy or civil liability insurance, every motorist should know exactly what actions to perform if an accident happens.

Specialists of "Oranta" recommend remembering a simple algorithm to use in case of accident. This algorithm will help to simplify the unpleasant procedures and expedite the receipt of payment of the insurance policy from the insurance company.

What to do if an accident happened?

1. Immediately stop your vehicle and take the appropriate security measures in place of the accident:

• Turn the emergency light alarm;

• Set warning triangle.

2. Take all possible measures to avoid increasing the amount of loss, provide first aid to the victim, if necessary, call an ambulance (tel. 103).

3. Immediately at the scene of an event please call round the clock customer service insurer, act in accordance with the instructions of the customer service manager.

4. To register for the event and obtain information on the participants and damaged property:

• in case of an accident - call the representatives of police (tel. 102);

• in case of theft or vehicle damage due to acts of third parties (tel. 102);

• In the event of a fire or explosion - Fire Service (tel. 101);

• in the case of natural disasters or animal attacks refer to MOE or MIA (tel. 101 or 102).

Require documents from the representatives of authorized agencies confirming the occurrence, causes and consequences of the insured event.

5. Do not move the vehicle and objects associated with the accident at the scene.

6. Do not accept the offer to pull over and examine the situation there.

In the case of other participants and witnesses of an accident record information about them: Name of a driver / company name's and witnesses (if any), contact numbers, address, vehicle model and registration number, the number of the insurance policy and data on the insurance company that issued the policy (name, address and telephone number).

7. If the second participant tries to flee the scene, record vehicle data, call and wait for the traffic police on the spot, without moving the vehicle, give all the information about the second participant to the police officers.

8. Before the arrival of police and medical examination do not drink alcohol or take any drugs.

9. Upon arrival of police to the accident scene:

• Record the name and address of police department;

• Record the name and badge number of the employee;

• Require traffic police to provide information on registration accidents indicating circuit scene.

10. Notify the nearest office of the insurance company about the circumstances of the event.

11. Keep vehicle or damaged property in the same condition it was found after the accident, until it does not examine the representative of the insurance company (also requires it to other participants of the accident).

12. Provide a damaged vehicle for inspection to a representative of the insurance company. By the time the written consent of the insurance company does not hold any repairs damaged car.

In place of the accident NEVER:

1. admit your guilt;

2. give any written commitments, including material nature (not to be confused with explanations);

3. sign any documents that cause you doubt, or with which you disagree. If the policeman insists we recommend you to personally write the record "do not agree with the information set forth in the record" and to indicate on what exactly you disagree, and put your signature.
