OREANDA-NEWS. January 21, 2013. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has heard out the report from Alexander Yakobson, Chairman of the State Control Committee.

Alexander Lukashenko said: “I’ve talked a lot about it and would like to confirm once again that control will be tightened in Belarus. It does not mean we will tail everyone, god forbid, we will not press or bend anyone. Things should be done decently and honestly”.

Alexander Lukashenko remarked that the State Control Committee works for it. “But today’s processes and the development of our society and the economy are at such a level that control is unavoidable. Therefore, everyone should hear and understand that we will be present where control is necessary, primarily, the State Control Committee will be,” said the head of state.

Alexander Lukashenko said he wanted a report about what problems the Committee will have to resolve soon and about what shortcomings exist in the economy and the society that the SCC cannot overlook.

“Naturally we will not avoid the State Control Committee having to audit the spending of state money and resources by state enterprises and faithfully keeping watch over the state property in order to prevent it from being squandered and to see that it works effectively. It is the most important task for the State Control Committee,” said the President.

In turn, Alexander Yakobson remarked that there were still rather many problems left concerning the budget construction and the spending of budgets of the country and oblasts. He underlined that the agency he heads understands its relevant goals clearly.

At the end of the meeting the head of state gave several instructions.
