OREANDA-NEWS. January 21, 2013. The Belarusian government has adopted alcohol output quotas for 2013 by resolution #1232 of the Council of Ministers.

The annual output quota on vodka and other hard drinks has been reduced 2.3% from the 2012 level to 19.63 million decaliters, cognac [a type of brandy] – down 20.3% to 408,000 dal, grape wine – down 21.4% to 3.562 million decaliters, ethyl alcohol – down 3.7% to 12.64 million dal.

The quota on production of rum reduced 2.5 times to 10,000 dal, calvados – down 33.3% to 10,000 dal.

The quota on production of improved quality fortified wines has been decreased 12.3% to 15.98 million decaliters, fortified fruit wines – down 20.6 times to 15,000 dal.

The quota on “champagne” and other sparkling wines has been raised 4.3% to 1.835 million decaliters, whiskey – up 15.7% to 118,000 decaliters.

The natural fruit-and-berry wine output quota has been set at 293,000 decaliters, up 34.4%.

The original grape wine production quota has been left unchanged at 5,000 decalitres.

Non-food alcohol output is expected to amount to 1 million decaliters in 2013, unchanged year-on-year, and the production of antiseptic pharmaceuticals categorized as non-food alcohol-containing products will reach 114,000 decaliters, up 22.6%.
