OREANDA-NEWS. January 22, 2013. In 2012, Ukraine has produced 11.4 million tons of milk, which is 2.7% more than in the previous year. Thus, the increase in milk production occurred in agricultural enterprises, which produced 2.5 million tons of milk and in households where it was produced 8.9 million tons. This was started by Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Mykola Prysyazhnyuk.

He stressed that today households produce 78% of milk, most of milk the peasants sell at organized food markets. So, domestic consumers have the opportunity to buy high-quality milk at a reasonable price.

"Today we are able to control the quality of milk produced in households and comes to organized food markets. After all, there are all conditions to Ukrainian consumers could buy high-quality and safe domestic milk. In particular, the new modern refrigeration, updated laboratory equipment, trained personnel are installed", Mykola Prysyazhnyuk said.

Also the Minister said that thanks to compensation for the value of purchased individual milking units farmers can produce better milk and facilitate their work.
