OREANDA-NEWS. January 22, 2013. An amount of the Road Fund has grown five times from 240 mln. leis in 2009 to 1 bln. 245 mln. leis в 2013 for the last four years. This was stated by Premier Vladimir Filat, who presented priorities of the government for this year.

Thanks to the support by external donors, a large-scale program was unfolded in Moldova to modernize its road, which would help to repair hundreds of kilometres of national roads and considerably reduce a number of bad roads in the country, the Premier said. The government, as before, is going to invest in infrastructure and some main water pipelines are to be put into services within the next two years.

They will provide potable water to one million people in several regions and towns of Moldova, including Balti, Singera, Nisporeni, Falesti and Leova. As for investments into the healthcare sector, Vladimir Filat stressed that in 2013 35 healthcare centers more are to be constructed and modernized and a new modern surgery block is to be put into operation in the Republican Clinical Hospital. Among governmental priorities for 2013 Vladimir Filat mentioned modernization of the following areas: justice, transportation and infrastructure, education, public health care and social protection.

According to him, the government exert every effort to improve living standards in the country through investments in social protection, culture, environment and healthcare, and all governmental measures aimed at modernization of all the sectors enumerated are dependent on tax collection.

All members of the society must realize that fiscal responsibility influence amounts of pensions, allowance to socially vulnerable groups, investments in education, rehabilitation of schools and roads.
