OREANDA-NEWS. January 22, 2013. FAW-Volkswagen announced on Jan 11 that a milestone of output and sales exceeding 1.3 million units in 2012 was made at the background of depression of domestic car market. The company produced a total of 1,342,012 cars, an increase of 31.7 percent over last year; sales reached 1,368,776 units. Among which 965,888 units of VW brand and 402,888 units of Audi brand (including imported cars) were sold. The company's sales revenue already reached 285 billion yuan this year, reported the press-centre of FAW.

In year 2012, FAW-VW launched several models such as new Sagitar, new Bora, new Audi A6L and A4L which were quickly received by general public and occupied domestic market. For instance, Brand-new Sagitar and Audi A6L are becoming the most favorited cars at A+ market with monthly sales maintaining 20,000 units and 12,000 units.

Aiming at such big market demands, FAW-VW in advance settled the bottleneck problems of parts supply and equipment malfunction which might seriously affect production capacity, and maintained a high production capacity level at the whole year. In year 2012, Changchun plant of FAW-VW made a world car manufacturer's record with a sole plant producing more than 1 million units. In addition, annual output of its Chengdu plant exceeded 250,000 units. Infrastructure construction of its Foshan plant already completed and scheduled to put into production in Aug 2013, with capacity of 360,000 units at first phase.
