OREANDA-NEWS. January 23, 2013. Belarus’ gross domestic product (GDP) expanded 1.5% on the year in 2012 to 527.4 trillion Belarusian rubles (USD 60.9 billion at the central bank’s exchange rate), an official with Belarus’ National Statistics Committee told.

Industrial output in January-December 2012 increased 5.7% on the year to Br621.9 trillion (around USD 71.813 billion).

Farm output rose 6.1% to Br100.8 trillion (USD 11.640 billion).

The government had planned to see the GDP grow 5-5.5% in 2012. The annual target for industrial output stood at 6-7%, farm output – 4-5%.

In 2011, Belarus’ GDP grew 5.3% on the year to 274.3 trillion Belarusian rubles. Industrial output amounted to 337 trillion rubles, up 9.1% on the year. Farm output increased 6.6% to 56.7 trillion rubles.
