OREANDA-NEWS. January 23, 2013. Belarus’ President Alexander Lukashenko finds it possible that the state-owned stake in OJSC Grodno Azot may be sold to an investor, or the Belarusian enterprise may get converted into a new petrochemical company.

“We do not rule out either the sale of some stake in Grodno Azot, or the prospects of building a new enterprise there. We have repeatedly voiced that proposal to Gazprom, and we still consider that as an option, but I don’t think we will sell it tomorrow,” Lukashenko told a press-conference.

The president said he finds it a good idea to build a new petroleum plant in the place of Grodno Azot, with two foreign investors involved: “Russia, India and us”. According to Lukashenko, there is another option: “We can also agree on the terms of upgrading the present-day plant.”
