OREANDA-NEWS. January 25, 2013. The Casting and Rolling Complex (CRC, Vyksa district, Nizhny Novgorod region, part of the United Metallurgical Company, OMK) produced over 1.1 mln tons of hot-rolled coil stock in 2012, a 4% gain over 2011. The complex produced 218,000 tonnes of sheet, 14% more than the 2011 figure, and 257,000 tonnes of strip, or 19% more compared to 2011.

Total shipments of hot-rolled coil, strips and sheets increased by 7% y-o-y in 2012 and exceeded 1.1 mln tonnes.

In December 2012, CRC produced 93,000 tonnes of hot-rolled coil stock, 17,000 tonnes of sheet and 32,000 tonnes of strip. 94,000 tonnes of product were shipped to customers.

“In 2012, CRC continued to increase production performance and master new steel grades. At the same time, the company implemented projects intended to improve production efficiency and product quality,” says the head of OMK Stal branch Oleg Fedotov. “In 2012, we demonstrated compliance of the quality management system with ISO 9001:2008 standards, European Council Directives 97/23/EC, 89/106/EC and AD 2000 Merkblatt. This enables us to be a large rolled steel producer both in the Russian and foreign markets. In 2012, the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping and Russian River Register acknowledged CRC as a producer of flat high strength steel sheets for the shipbuilding industry. This will enable the enterprise to widen its product range and start shipping rolled steel for shipbuilding to the Russian market as soon as in 2013.”
