Discussions on justice, freedom and stability and movement of citizens of Moldova around the EU are coming to their end too. During the talks, the parties also discussed monitoring of implementation of the provisions of the agreement and harmonization of Moldova’s legislation with the European one.

EU negotiator Gunnar Wiegand also confirmed that the talks on the Association Agreement would have been successfully completed by the summit of the Eastern Partnership to be held in Vilnius in November, 2013. In 2014 most provisions of the agreement are to be implemented, which will have a beneficial effect on a business environment in Moldova and facilitate modernization of Moldovan economy and justice, Gunnar Wiegand said.

According to him, both agreements apply for both banks of the Dniester. The next round of the talks on the Association Agreement is held in Brussels in mid March. This year’s first round of the negotiations on the Deep, Comprehensive and Free Trade Agreement Moldova –EU, which is a component of the Association Agreement, is taking place on January, 21-25. Negotiators are discussing quotas on supply of animal production, sugar, dairy and juice from Moldova the EU.
