OREANDA-NEWS. January 28, 2013.  In September 2012 the 24th annual conference of Asia-Pacific economic leaders - the APEC Summit - took place in the Russian city of Vladivostok.  It was the first ever APEC summit to be held in Russia.  According to the decision of the management of the Federal Grid Company (FGS UES), RTEC had to equip seven objects of the FGS UES at the summit (5 substations and 2 administrative buildings) with CASS elements (complex automated security system).

Within a very short period of time, in close cooperation with managers of FGS UES and experts of MES East and “TSIUS East” (branch of TSIUS EES), RTEC specialists completed the job. Besides, RTEC experts built a mobile command and control center (MCCC), which makes it possible for FGS UES top managers to provide remote monitoring of the situation and to manage security at the objects belonging to MES East (branch of FGS EES).

Top management of FGS UES highly appreciated RTEC's activities at this event which was very important for the country.  Early in 2013 letters of commendation "For great contribution in ensuring reliable uninterrupted power supply at the objects of APEC-2012 in Vladivostok and in security of electric power objects" were handed over to Eugeny Melnik, director general, RTEC; Andrei Badalov, first deputy director general, RTEC, and Sergei Melnik, RTEC project director.  Official gratitude from FGS UES management was expressed to RTEC employees who took part in the project, namely Vladimir Alexandrov, Anatoly Stepanov, and Valery Sokolov.
