OREANDA-NEWS. January 29, 2013. 2012 marks a milestone for Shandong Airlines' Safe Flight Year. A simple but warmhearted welcoming ceremony has been held in Jinan base to celebrate this important moment. The ceremony is attended by Shandong Airlines Group's leadership including party secretary Zhang Xingfu, deputy party secretary and secretary of Discipline Inspection Commission Wang Kaixun, vice president and general manager Yu Haitian and vice president Song Yuxia, as well as cadres and staff from various departments. On the day, individual welcoming ceremonies were also held in Qingdao, Yantai, Xiamen and other branches to extend best wishes in the New Year, reported the press-centre of Shandong Airlines.

Shandong Airlines considers safety management and control as a primary task in 2012 and has successfully realized its 18th Safe Flight Year by now. Throughout the year, there has been no commercial aviation incident or other more serious unsafe events resulting from the company itself, so the company continues to maintain a record with the longest period of no flight incidents accountable to Civil Aviation. Through the improvement of SMS system and the establishment of potential hazard information collection and safety quality performance evaluation mechanism, Shandong Airlines is committed to strengthening an all-round supervisory control in the safety production process to minimize safety issues. All cadres and staff have been working hard in unity and dedicating themselves to achieve sustained excellent safety production records. They have successfully completed a list of major tasks including Asian Beach Games (ABG) air transport.

Over the past year, to promote comprehensive regional safety supervision, Shandong Airlines has developed duo regional supervision and management regulations as well as rules for the implementation of branches and base supervision evaluation. Respective duties for branches, base and headquarters are clearer and responsibilities of safety body, leadership, regulation and posts are reinforced. In a series of 'Fighting and Rectifying Illegal and Violative Act' activities, effort has been made to rectify safety weaknesses, learn the profound lessons of unsafe events within the industry. Moreover, 'Fighting and Rectifying Illegal and Violative Act' special action was initiated to enhance efforts on safety vulnerability remediation. As to the management of safety management personnel, they were provided with systematic safety management training. A crew training system called 'job + project' was implemented to tailor day-to-day safety management. In addition, the company took the initiative to organize annual joint anti-hijacking exercises and carry out ground safety inspection and rectification to improve ground safety management.
