OREANDA-NEWS. January 29, 2013. In 2012, the sales of the vehicles from Sollers Group, which represents such brands as UAZ, SsangYong and ISUZU, amounted to 100,196 units and exceeded by 14.5% the results for 2011, when 87,511 vehicles of these brands were sold.

SsangYong brand leads in terms of growth rate with the sales jumping by 37% in 2012. 31,198 vehicles were sold last year as compared to 22,692 in 2011. These figures show further strengthening of SsangYong brand in the Russian market, and also the interest of consumers to the new products of this year, such as the popular Actyon crossover with gasoline engine, updated Actyon Sports pickup and updated Rexton SUV.

In the past year, the sales of UAZ SUVs increased by 8% as compared to 2011 and amounted to 68,259 units, of which 60,668 were sold in the domestic market and 7591 went for export, while in 2011, UAZ sold 63,035 vehicles in the domestic and export markets. In 2012, UAZ Pickup model became the absolute leader in terms of growth with the sales increasing by 46% due to the competent pricing policy of the company.

The sales of ISUZU light commercial vehicles and trucks in 2012 amounted to 739 units. Let's remember that last year Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant resumed the production of N-series trucks as part of the agreement with ISUZU Motors Limited.

According to Vadim Shvetsov, General Director, SOLLERS OJSC, the key factor for the growth of sales in 2012 was the successful brand marketing strategy in a growing market, which allowed to maximize the realization of potential and exceed the average growth rate in the market. "The results of the past year confirm high competitiveness of SOLLERS vehicles in the fast-growing segments and allow to expect further strengthening of our positions in the coming year", said Vadim Shvetsov.
