OREANDA-NEWS. February 05, 2013. PETRONAS and its in-house staff union Kesatuan Kakitangan Petroliam Nasional Berhad (KAPENAS) signed a Collective Agreement for the period 2013-2015 at Prince Residence Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, reported the press-centre of PETRONAS. 

The new agreement improves and revises the employment terms and conditions to provide better benefits for PETRONAS non-executive staff.

The agreement was signed by Puan Raiha Azni Abdul Rahman, PETRONAS Vice President for Human Resource Management, together with KAPENAS’ representatives from its four chapters – Encik Zul Kofli Jusoh, President of KAPENAS Semenanjung Malaysia; Encik Yusuff Ali, President of KAPENAS Sarawak; Encik M Erwanddy Deen Erwan, President of KAPENAS Sabah; and Encik Haris Fadzilah Fadil, President of KAPENAS Wilayah Persekutuan Labuan.

The signing was witnessed by Mr Fong Khei Por, Director General of Industrial Relations Malaysia and Datuk Wan Zulkiflee Wan Ariffin, PETRONAS Chief Operating Officer & Executive Vice President for Downstream Business.

In his speech, Mr Fong congratulated both parties for reaching an agreement, and lauded the elements of respect, transparency, trust and compromise which were shown during the negotiation process.

He said it is important for the private sectors to maintain industrial harmony within the workplace to ensure a productive workforce, which is one of the key factors to attract foreign investors.
