OREANDA-NEWS. Kolsky Branch accepted a meeting of representatives from Russia, Norway and Finland on water resources of Lake Inari, which are used at border HPPs. Such events are held every year since 1959 and contribute to the rapid exchange of information between specialists of cross-border energy objects.

Main themes were the release schedule for the first half of 2013, the last year outcome, climate change and improvement of the interaction between the parties. The results of negotiations were recorded in the minutes, which will be signed at a meeting in Norwegian Svanhofde on 12-14 February 2013.

Erkki Yaarvinen, a leading expert of the Finnish Environment Center said: "Twenty years ago such meetings were much more formal than they are now. We began to feel like a team, we have common goals and better get together to solve problems".
