OREANDA-NEWS. February 06, 2013. The head of the Moldovan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), Gheorghe Cucu and Israeli Ambassador to Moldova Oren David, held a meeting. The officials discussed the need to boost up bilateral economic ties.

Cucu said Moldova’s exterior trade turnout with Israel reached 43.3 million dollars in 11 months of 2012, rising by 2.2 times against the same period of time in 2011, in spite of the world economic crisis. “The visit of Moldovan Prime Minister Vlad Filat to Israel in May 2012 has also contributed to this positive development. Filat was accompanied by a delegation of approximately 50 Moldovan entrepreneurs, who visited the international exhibition “Agritech” and attended the Moldovan-Israeli forum.

We are also sharing information on commercial offers and demands submitted by companies interested in finding business partners, within the collaboration agreement the Moldovan CCI and Israeli Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry signed in 2003. However, we could boost up Moldovan-Israeli collaboration even more. Moldovan entrepreneurs are interested in Israel’s experience in the agricultural sector, technologies and innovations. For their part, Israeli businessmen could have the opportunity to invest in Moldova. Therefore, I invite you to attend the national exhibition “Made in Moldova” and its business programme, in order to identify potential sectors that your investors may be interested in. The exhibition will take place at the exhibition centre Moldexpo, on 30 January-2 February,” Cucu said.

For his part, David thanked Cucu for the invitation, saying he will further back the CCI’s leadership in developing Moldovan-Israeli business partnerships. Also David said he will examine tools and opportunities to boost up Moldovan-Israeli cooperation.
