OREANDA-NEWS. PrivatBank was acknowledged as the best among Ukrainian banks by the quality of information disclosure to clients and became the leader in the ranking on informational transparency of the banks, published by the Ukrainian Credit Rating Agency (UCRA). As stated in the agency’s report, today the PrivatBank’s transparency index of 75.88% is the record-breaking in Ukraine. For comparison, the average level of information disclosure among 30 largest Ukrainian banks made up 56.58 %, and for certain banks - 34.63%, that is even below the world accepted standards of information disclosure.

According to the research, every second of 30 largest Ukrainian banks publishes its financial statements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards. Most of the banks disclose the credit rating information, but only three banks allow free access to the rating reports.

Also, only three of 30 largest Ukrainian banks disclose to clients their strategy and development plans. And only PrivatBank has published the risk management regulations on its website.

Moreover, only on PrivatBank’s website clients can get access to all necessary information, financial statements, assessments of the service quality, and even “look into” the offices of the PrivatBank’s TOP-managers. Thereto, 360° captures of the bank’s Board of Directors members’ offices were posted on the website.

Under the research on transparency of the banks operating in Ukraine there was analyzed the quality of information disclosure of 30 largest Ukrainian banks on their websites as for January 1st, 2012. The analysis was based on the methodology of the Ukrainian Credit Rating Agency developed with regard to the best international information disclosure practice.
