OREANDA-NEWS. Net profit of Belarus’ communication companies went up 4.8 times on the year to 1.831 trillion Belarusian rubles (Br) in January-November 2012, or USD 211.9 million at the official rate of the central bank, an official with Belarus’ National Statistics Committee told.

Communication services exports in January-November 2012 amounted to USD 169.6 million, up 3.1%, and imports went up 20.9% to USD 120.7 million.

Profitability of sales of the enterprises run by the Communications Ministry stood at 22.5% in January-November 2012, down from 24.5% the year before.

There were 3 loss-making organizations in the sector in January-November 2012, or 6% of the total number.

Postal service tariffs grew 17.5% on the year in January-December 2012, long-distance calls – 57.8%, local calls on landlines – 74.3%. Cell companies have raised their tariffs 55.7%.
