OREANDA-NEWS. Belarusian distillery Belalco, based in Brest, increased exports 60.6% year on year in January-December 2012 to 3.274 million decaliters, a source in the administration of the company told.

Vodka and hard drink exports expanded twofold to 142,000 dal, starch – 280,000 tonnes, up 2.8 times, pure alcohol – 76,500 dal, down 13.6%.

The company exports its products to New Zealand, Ukraine, Vietnam, the Baltic States, Germany, Kazakhstan, Poland, Bulgaria, Turkmenistan, Moldova, China, Azerbaijan.

Vodka output increased 1.9% to 1.96 million decaliters.

Vodka and liquor inventories stood at 19,000 dal as of January 1, 2013, down 4.6 times in comparison with the level of December 1, 2012.

In value terms, Belalco’s output rose to 406.545 billion Belarusian rubles (USD 47.1 million) in 2012 to compare with Br169.882 billion (USD 19.7 million) in 2011.

The Brest-based distillery was established in 1897. It is capable of making about 1.5 million decaliters of hard drinks a year.
