OREANDA-NEWS.  Tele2, a European mobile operator, has added 83% of new subscribers in Russian regions, except for Moscow and St. Petersburg, over 2012.

According to the AC&M Consulting research company, Russian mobile operators added 670 thousand subscribers in total in 4Q12. Mobile penetration hit 161.3% in the country.

 Tele2 Russia added 374,000 people between October and December 2012 and accounted for 38% of all new additions in Russia. Over the year subscriber base reached 22.716 mn people.

 Tele2 has kept high growth rates of the subscriber base over the year. Thus, it has outperformed other operators in terms of new subscribers in 1H12. The Company has taken the second place in 3Q12 lagging behind the leader by 1%.
