OREANDA-NEWS. Doctor Web has updated the firewall and scanner in the eighth version of its Dr.Web Security Space and Dr.Web for Windows, as well as the updater and installation scripts in version 7.0 products.

The firewall has been updated to allow the component to be uninstalled correctly.

The scanner has been fixed so that when scanning is launched from the command line, the option to scan containers can now be disabled. Also fixed was an error that occurred when launching a virus scan via the context menu.

A key file detection issue involving the updater module in Dr.Web 7.0 products, which occurred when Dr.Web components and virus databases were updated, has been resolved. Problems that caused the module to freeze have also been corrected.

Installation scripts for 7.0 products have been edited to troubleshoot problems that arose when installing Dr.Web Net Filter for Windows on computers under Windows 8. In addition, an error that occurred upon connecting to a Microsoft Hyper-V virtual machine has been fixed.

The update will be downloaded and installed automatically, however, a system restart will be necessary for Dr.Web 8.0.
