OREANDA-NEWS. “The gained load of 70 MW and synchronization to the Grid confirm that all the systems of Power Unit no.1 run properly, commissioning is ongoing according to the schedule”, - said Mikhail Shabalin, Director of Nyaganskaya GRES.

“Preparations for the start-up of NGRES Power Unit are being performed round the clock. The next step is to purge pipelines and to prepare Steam Turbine for start-up”, - said Andrey Malyshev, President of E4 Group which acts as EPC contractor in the construction of the first Power Unit of Nyaganskaya GRES.

Reliability run and certification tests of NGRES Power Unit 1 are planned for the early February.

Nyaganskaya GRES, which is a “green field” construction project carried out by FORTUM in the town of Nyagan, the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug – Yugra, is the biggest heat power plant ever constructed in Russia for over 20 years. Total installed capacity of the three power units will be 1254 MW. It is expected that the first Power Unit will be put into operation in the first quarter of 2013.
