OREANDA-NEWS. February 15, 2013. Estonian-Indian relations are taking a major step forward - ceremonially at least - with the opening of an embassy in New Delhi.

Foreign Minister Urmas Paet will officiate the occasion, which coincides with a visit to the city by a 25-member delegation of Estonian entrepreneurs, mostly from the logistics and IT sectors.

“We would like to intensify co-operation as well as business and cultural contacts with India, one of the fastest-growing economies in the world. We’d also like to develop political ties,” Paet said in a release earlier in the week.

“India’s importance as one of Estonia’s trade partners has increased from year to year, and we hope that the opening of the embassy and the visit by a business delegation will help to develop our bilateral economic relations,” he added.
