OREANDA-NEWS. February 18, 2013. According to the National Energy Regulatory Agency, gas distribution to final consumers decreased 4.5% to 989.6 mln. c.m. The biggest decline in the consumption was registered among economic entities and made up 11.5% to 211.5 mln. c.m.

Gas consumption by the population declined by 4.8% to 298.8 mln. c.m.; gas consumption at institutions of the public sector dropped 4.5% to 50.3 mln. c.m. Energy companies reduced gas consumption by 0.5% to 428.9 mln. c.m. in 2012. The biggest share in the structure of gas consumption fell on energy companies and made up 39.2%.

Household customers made up the 27.3% share, economic agents made the 19.3% and the budget-financed institutions made up the 4.6% share in the total amount of gas consumed in this period. In 2012 Moldova, Transdniestria excluded, bought Russian natural gas at a sum of 5 bln. 185 mln. leis ((USD430.3 mln. at the going rate of NBM), 12.4% up as compared with 2011, ANRE reports.

This increase is explained by higher purchasing prices for gas. Payments to Gazprom for natural gas consumed by Moldova in 2012 made 81.9% against 90.4% in 2011, or, 8.5 p.. down. Inner consumers of Moldova settled accounts with Moldovagaz 94.9% against 96.6% the year before.
