OREANDA-NEWS. The Bank of Moscow provides the Internet acquiring service of paying Traffic Police fines through the personal account on the Portal of Moscow state and municipal services (pgu.mos.ru). Fines may be paid by VISA or MasterCard. The project was launched in partnership with the Moscow Department for Information Technologies. About twenty thousand users of the city portal have already taken advantage of the service.

Currently, not only Traffic Police fines may be paid with the Bank of Moscow’s help on the portal, but also for parking in the parking experiment zone, communal and municipal services, BTI statements and supplementary children’s education. The list of services accessible for payment is regularly updated. The payment agent may charge a fee, the amount being indicated before the transaction is made.

Online payment for city services allows people to avoid wasting time on bank branch visits and to save considerably on their family budgets. Since the first paid services were launches on the Moscow state services portal, users have saved about 7.5 million in excess outlays as a result of the lower fees charged than at bank and post office branches.

"Expansion of the range of services and their improvement constitute the Bank’s main task in the electronic product sphere", announced Denis Seredenko, Director of the Bank of Moscow’s Corporate Payments and Electronic Commerce Department. "By using the new technologies for exchange of information introduced by the Bank of Moscow IT Department, the Bank ensures precise and timely performance of payments made through the state services portal".

Kirill Kuznetsov, Head of the Branch Project Administration of the Bank of Moscow’s IT Department, commented that "By monitoring and paying Traffic Police fines on the Moscow state service portal, users can be sure that they will not have difficulties when crossing the frontier or have to prove to court bailiff’s that they have paid off a debt. Thanks to our partners, the funds are guaranteed to reach the recipient quickly and the history of all transactions is stored in the personal account on the portal".

The city’s traffic cam system sends out about 100 thousand fines to motorists a day. On the state services portal (pgu.mos.ru), users may not only pay fines but also subscribe to notification of new traffic offences photographed by the traffic cams. For this, the field for the driving licence or car licence plate number needs to be filled in and the notification method chosen — SMS or email. The service is provided free of charge. Over 600 thousand Muscovites are registered on the city state services portal.
